Scripture Passages (24)

Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses .

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.

And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John , whether he were the Christ , or not;

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria : and how shall we escape?

Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron ; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza , and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these.
